I think about style like I think about my bedroom: if it isn’t colorful and crowded, a little messy and plastered with memories and art, it isn’t something I want to call mine. I love reading about and trying new trends, but I always come back to pieces with history (where I got them, who owned them before me, memories I have while wearing them) and those that are eye-catching and artistic by design. I wear a lot of old things, a lot of pretty things, and a lot of leggings.
LOVE: cowboy boots, high-waisted skirts, architectural heels, open backs
NO LOVE: bubble skirts
I learned everything I know about cooking from my mom, Bon Appetit and The Food Network, and am doing my best to implement those skills and ideas into my "adult" life. Fresh produce makes my heart rate increase, and my sweet tooth is permanently insatiable. I sleep easy knowing that if there were to be a natural disaster, my roommates and I would be able to survive for at least a week on the pesto, hummus and banana bread fixings that we keep in our kitchen at all times.
LOVE: Belgian waffles, cream of carrot soup, yellow curry, fajitas
NO LOVE: cilantro
I like to take pictures, and I'm always interested in learning more about photography. I use a Nikon D3100 for most of the pictures you see on this blog, but occasionally implement an old point-and-shoot Cannon that I spilled honey on one time, my iPhone, and/or many a CVS brand disposable. I'm bad at self-timer and often have to ask people to take pictures of me, which makes me feel awkward and embarrassed even though they're my friends or my sister. If you see me struggling, please help.
LOVE: rule of thirds, tilt-shift, crazy sharp macro
NO LOVE: focuslessness
